An 8-year-old girl with alopecia recently experienced a life-changing moment on TikTok that melted the hearts of millions.
Sitting in a salon chair, Sadie explained to Australian-based Rasta Hair’s Holly Farah that she was bullied at school because of her bare head. As someone who grew up with alopecia, a condition in which some hair falls out, and the loneliness that comes with it, Farah could empathize with this.
“She reminded me a lot of myself. Her alopecia spots and the way her hair looked was exactly how I looked at her age. It was like going back in time and remembering the struggles of my childhood. “It was like holding little Holly’s hand when she was there,” the 33-year-old told Newsweek.

In the clip, Farrah surprises Sadie by telling her that she has no hair on her head now that she’s wearing a wig. The girl was shocked and couldn’t believe that Farrah’s wig was real.
“Losing your hair is hard at any age, but when you’re this young, you have to figure out how to get through your next school year without someone asking you what’s wrong or making fun of you for something.” Don’t worry about what you can do. You can’t control it,” Farah told Newsweek.
Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss (often in patches) because the immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles. It can affect people of all ages and cause partial or complete hair loss on the scalp, face, and body.

“When Sadie realized we were all the same, she was no longer alone in her hair loss journey. We were on this journey together. “I quickly made new friends who were willing to help me,” she added.
Farah’s mission was to find a comfortable, natural-looking wig for Sadie. Her reaction when she put the wig on her head said it all.

The clip, posted on the Lusta Hair TikTok account (@lustahair), has garnered more than 5.5 million views and thousands of comments from other social media users who shed tears at Sadie’s reaction. It was done.
One user said, “With the new hair, her posture and voice have also changed.” Another wrote, “You must be very good at your job that she turned to you when she was able to connect with you.”
“It just meant everything to us to see Sadie come out of her shell and find that confidence in that way,” Farah told Newsweek.
The overwhelming support from the online community has been heartwarming for the wig company. Many people have contacted us to donate to Lusta Hair’s children’s project, which provides wigs to children in need.
“The Sadie who came out of our office was not the same Sadie who came in. She went from being quiet and unsure of herself to excited, jumping up and down, new and ready to try anything. ,” Farah said.
