When it comes to hair health, there are a few common culprits that can take a toll on your hair: excessive heat styling, over-dyeing, drying styling products, etc. We usually look at our habits to get to the root of our hair woes.
Have you ever considered that your hair problems could be caused by your environment? According to a recent study from Goldie, you should.
Top 10 worst cities for hair health
To determine how healthy hair differs across cities, Goldie’s study assessed environmental conditions known to affect hair, such as wind speed, humidity, UV index, and water hardness. Goldie then took an overall score to estimate the likelihood of a bad hair day in each city. Unfortunately for Dolphins fans and native Floridians, Miami took the top spot as the worst city for healthy hair, with an overall score of 81.23.
As expected, cities with warm climates and harsh environments make the top 10. Following Miami is another Florida city, Tampa. Following Miami and Tampa are San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, Austin, Texas, Houston, Fort Worth, Texas, Oklahoma City, and Jacksonville, Florida. All of these cities have an average score above 50, meaning bad hair days are common in these places.
