Take care of your hair! Nine Zero One co-founders and celebrity hairstylists Nikki Li and Riawna Capri are known for coloring, cutting, and styling the hair of many celebrities, including Selena Gomez, Emma Roberts, Sophia Bush, Charli D’Amelio, Julianne Hough, Paris Jackson, Nina Dobrev, and Camila Cabello. In celebration of their 15th anniversary, the duo shared with ET the dos and don’ts of achieving red carpet-worthy hair.
Firstly, hair professionals employ a creative process that embraces beauty from the inside out for every client.

“When we choose a celebrity’s hairstyle, it’s usually focused on the role they’re playing. We learn about the character, what job they do, how old they are, what kind of life they lead. This also translates to real people’s lives. We ask about their personality and think about the hairstyle that will best express that personality,” Capri explained.
This one-on-one experience ensures that salon-goers feel their best when they leave the beauty haven with their hair styled.
“It’s really important to us that when you leave the salon you feel good. Of course your hair is going to look great, but we want you to feel good physically. That’s what’s important to us,” Lee continued.

What’s in style these days? “For brunettes and blondes, cool, cold tones are going out the window and warm tones are in,” Capri said.
“We call it natural rich old money blonde,” Lee said.
To maintain lush hair, hair experts recommend incorporating key products between appointments every few weeks.
“Our Raindrops shower filters are the best. They brighten blonde hair and prevent redness in brunettes. … You can still use your shower head with the filter on the back, so you don’t have to replace it with a plastic one, which is even more convenient,” Capri said.

Another must-have: “Everyone needs the Incommon Magic Mist Universal Hair Elixir. It’s a leave-in heat protectant that acts like a vitamin for your hair. It won’t weigh your hair down, so use more if you have thick hair and less if your hair is fine,” suggests Lee.
But when it comes to what to avoid, Capri says, “Put down the curling iron.”
“I love my natural texture and encourage all women with curly hair to embrace it. … Anyone with naturally curly hair should go to a stylist and ask them how to style it, rather than going to a salon to get a blow dry. Learn how to do it yourself.”
“Hair irons are deadly to hair,” Lee adds. “Let your hair air dry and then add some textured waves on top of it.”
