Sure, that’s fine, but how do you make your look fresh and different for each party? That’s where Tia Mowry’s Instagram comes in. She has more outfit and beauty ideas than your Pinterest feed and For You page combined. Mowry’s half ponytail in particular is one of her most used updos and is the ultimate party look in general. She’s styled it in so many different ways over the years, meaning there’s a unique style to suit everyone’s aesthetic.
Mowry just posted a series of photos showing off her vibrant, self-designed shoe collection, but fans couldn’t help but take notice of her top-notch hairstyles in every shot. In three of the photos, she’s sporting variations on the classic half-ponytail: one features her natural curls, one has tight spirals cascading down to her waist, and one has particularly towering, brushed waves cascading from the top of her head.
Not only is this style comfortable because you always feel a little freer with the top half of your hair out of your face, it’s also great for maximizing the appearance of length and volume. Lifting a section of hair up to the crown of your head, as Mowry does in two of her styles, creates the illusion of a few inches longer. A little strategic fluffing at the back and ends can also give the appearance of a lot more volume in your hair, too.
But the best thing about the half ponytail is its versatility. It pairs beautifully with any hairstyle: natural curls, short, braided, wavy, or with extensions. Make a statement with the style, or dress it up with seasonal hair bows and sparkly clips. Nothing makes for a great conversation starter at a party like a statement accessory.
