A weeping bride feared she would have to cut her “long, beautiful” hair after it got stuck in her hairbrush for five hours – but her fiance managed to save the day by twisting the brush out with pliers.
Kelly Stone was blow-drying her newly cut curtain bangs for an advertising shoot when her brand new round Conair brush got caught in her hair.

The 27-year-old tried to remove the brush herself but was unsuccessful, so she posted a video to TikTok asking her followers for advice on how to remove the styling tool.
However, after trying all the suggested methods to no avail, the content creator was forced to cut off a large amount of her hair, and feared she wouldn’t have long hair left for her wedding day.
In the emotional video, Kelly can be seen panicking and crying as she tries to untangle a brush from her blonde hair, and admits the thought of cutting it made her “very emotional”.
In the video, Kelly said she was happy with her “long and beautiful” hair and was looking forward to showing it off on her wedding day, but that may be in jeopardy after her hair got stuck for five hours.
Her fiancé, Adam, came home from work with a pair of pliers and was finally able to remove the brush by plucking each bristles, a process that took 30 minutes.
Kelly claims destroying the brush was “therapeutic” and that she was grateful she didn’t have to cut her hair off in the end, feeling relieved and claiming the pliers “genuinely saved my life.”
“I had just gotten curtain bangs so I was looking for a slightly smaller round brush (to do this),” said Kelly, from Los Angeles, California, US.
“I was trying to dry my hair with a hair dryer and when I tried to comb my bangs, the rest of my hair got combed too.
“I believe this phenomenon is caused by the bristles of the brush themselves.
“I definitely panicked straight away, I never thought the brush would get clogged.
Changing my style: From bleached hair to Sydney Sweeney glamour
“I’ve used many different styling brushes and have never had this happen before.
“I’ve tried just about every tip and trick I’ve seen on TikTok to keep my brush out of my hair.
“I’ve tried everything: I’ve tried wetting my hair with conditioner, I’ve tried the rat-tail comb, I’ve tried plucking my hair, I’ve tried moving each hair individually.
“I love long hair. It’s definitely a passion of mine. I was so thrilled because I think long hair would look so beautiful on my wedding day with the dress I’m looking at.”
“I’ve been putting this brush through my hair for four hours and my fiancé hasn’t come home from work and I’ve been putting this brush through my hair for five hours.”
“My biggest fear in the first hour was having to cut the brush out of my hair.

“I was waiting for him to get home from work when someone showed me a video offering me a pair of pliers.
“I called my fiancé and asked him to bring me a brush. He ended up using wire cutters or something to remove every single bristles from the brush and untangled my hair.
“The pliers literally saved my life.”
Kelly said it took the couple 30 minutes to get the brush out of her hair, and she tells others if something similar happens to them to stay calm, use plenty of conditioner and avoid pulling on styling products.
She is now warning others to use a small round brush similar to this one for a bouncy blow dry to prevent the same thing from happening to them.
“I posted a video of me untangling my hair. It was super tangled but I was relieved because I knew with a deep conditioner it would be fine,” Kelly said.
“The tangles looked really bad, but they were a lot easier to manage than brushing my hair.
“Unfortunately there was some damage but nothing too bad. I have a really good leave-in conditioner that I use every day and I used up most of the bottle.
“I will never use these brushes again and I destroyed this one, but I felt so healed.
“If your hair gets caught in your brush, the first thing to do is take a deep breath and call a friend for help.
