Hair expert reveals 86p food to help ‘battle’ frizz

Although it may be tempting to stick to your usual routine, cold weather requires special attention to hair care.

Not only can the cold weather make your hair dry and dull, but it can also cost you a lot of money. Hair treatment called Hair Botox is the latest beauty trend that people are obsessed with.

This trend is commonly known as keratin treatments and can deeply condition, hydrate, and smooth your hair. The only problem is that it costs a lot of money.

Thankfully, the global beauty and wellness experts at Fresha have shared their top hacks for beautiful hair without breaking the bank.

Even better, they are items that many people already have in their homes, especially in their kitchens. Specifically, one of them costs just 86p from supermarket giant Tesco.

Forget about hair masks, mayonnaise is the best way to refresh your hair. Mayonnaise is an easy and affordable alternative to hair moisturizers as it tame frizz and prevent dandruff.

But it’s also your secret weapon for locking in your dyed hair color. When your hair is damp, apply this from the top of your scalp to the tips of your hair. For best results, wash off after 20 minutes.

You can buy a bottle for just 86p in supermarkets like Tesco, 95p in Aldi and 96p in Asda.

Revitalize your hair

Admittedly, champagne isn’t the most affordable item on this list. However, you may have some left over after the party. That’s where this multipurpose hack comes in handy.

Instead of using expensive shampoos to revitalize your highlights, comb some champagne through damp hair and work it gently from top to bottom.

This hack works best on hair with blonde highlights, as champagne accentuates the golden shine and shine in your hair. If you don’t have champagne in your fridge, try canned beer to make your hair smooth and soft.

Meanwhile, Dr Balwi, Elythea’s lead hair surgeon, also explained why it’s important to take care of your hair all year round.

Practice hair care habits

Dr. Balwi said: “Establish a hair care regimen that promotes a healthy scalp. Avoid frequent use of heat-based styling tools, choose milder shampoos, maintain hair strength, and hydrate effectively. Always keep your hair moisturized. Regular scalp massage increases blood circulation and promotes hair growth.

Eat a balanced diet and stay hydrated

“Ensuring a diet rich in essential vitamins and minerals is essential to maintaining healthy hair, especially during hot weather. Get enough vitamin D, B vitamins, zinc, and iron in your daily diet. Let’s do it like that.

“You can achieve this by including foods such as leafy greens, nuts, seeds, eggs, and fish in your diet. Dehydration can also worsen the effects of the sun’s heat on your hair, so make sure you get the right amount. Drinking water can also help keep your scalp hydrated. We recommend aiming to drink 6 to 8 cups or glasses of water each day.
