Viewers of Emily in Paris had to witness an unexpected tragedy during season 4 of the Netflix series (no, it wasn’t Emily’s multiple breakups). Fans wondered what happened to Gabrielle’s hair, which went from a glamorous clean cut to a Justin Bieber-esque plunging look throughout the new season. Finally, star Lucas Bravo explained the evolution of his character’s hair in a new interview on September 30th.
In a video posted to I asked if it would happen. But it was actually a sacrifice. On the actor’s side, to achieve the final hair goal.
“We’ve been trying to keep our hair long on the show since season one,” he explained. “And there’s only one day between seasons (season 3 and season 4), so if you have to grow your hair long during the season, you go through a transition phase where your hair is unkempt and it doesn’t look long. You need ‘whatever.’ “
There’s only one day between the two seasons, but Season 4 appears to span several months. As a result, Gabriel’s appearance is just a work in progress in growing out his hair, and that journey is not mentioned on the show.

Bravo’s hair is now as long and luscious as he could have hoped for, complete with a scruffy beard, as seen during the Emily in Paris press tour in August and September. So when the show returns for Season 5, presumably in 2025, Gabriel will finally get even longer hair. I hope people realize that.
“I decided to sacrifice Season 4 in order to grow my hair long in Season 5,” he said. “I just wanted something different. I’m always clean-shaven, but shaving for five months (constantly) isn’t very good for your skin or your mind.”
But rocking Bravo isn’t just a personal goal. He’s also grooming them for a role in the upcoming HBO series Dangerous Liaisons. “There will be sword fighting, horseback riding, and lots of beautiful mustaches and long hair,” he teased People in the Season 4 premiere. The only thing these two shows have in common seems to be Bravo’s new long hair.
