VALDOSTA, Fla. (WCTV) – With thousands of people still without power and some without water in Valdosta after Hurricane Helen hit the town, a local barbershop is helping those in need. We are doing everything we can to bring some relief and normalcy to the.
Stylists at Chop Barbershop are washing people’s hair for free because they want to help people feel clean, with many unable to shower properly for days on end.
Valdosta resident Talia Hansen said washing your hair may seem trivial, but it makes a big difference.
“It starts to feel really, really gross and really disgusting. You get to get your hair clean and feel like a human being again,” Hansen said. “It’s refreshing to keep moving forward and it gives me a chance to face the day again, feeling like a whole person again.”
The barbershop plans to continue handing out free hair wash until at least the end of this week.
