A hair and makeup stylist who worked for Trisha Yearwood and eventually Garth Brooks accused Brooks of rape in a recent lawsuit.
The woman, identified as Jane Roe in the lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, said she had worked for Mr. Brooks’ wife, Mr. Yearwood, since 1999 and for Mr. Brooks since 2017, The Associated Press reported. reported.
Lowe said she traveled with Brooks from Nashville to Los Angeles when he performed with Sam Moore at the 2019 Grammy Awards Tribute.
Typically, Brooks travels with an entourage, but on this trip it was just him and his stylist on a private jet, with a single-bedroom hotel suite booked for them to share. That’s all, CNN reported.
Lowe claimed in her lawsuit that she felt “trapped in a room alone with Brooks.”
While in the suite, she said, he stripped naked at the entrance to the room and eventually raped her.
Loh later said that after the alleged assault, he went ahead with preparations for the rest of the event as if nothing had happened, expecting her to do his hair and makeup.
She also said that earlier that year he showed up naked, grabbed her hand and put it on his genitals.
The woman claimed that Mr. Brooks repeatedly exposed himself to her, talked about his sexual fantasies and sent her explicit text messages, but due to financial hardship, Mr. Brooks allegedly took advantage of the Associated Press. He continued to work under him.
Mr. Brooks filed a lawsuit in Mississippi last month to block Mr. Roe’s suit. Neither Brooks nor the woman have been identified in the case, and Brooks, using the name John Doe, said the allegations were “completely false.” He claimed to have learned of the allegations in July, saying he threatened to sue her if she didn’t pay him millions of dollars, according to the Associated Press.
Brooks said in his lawsuit that the allegations arose because he denied Rowe “salary employment and medical benefits,” CNN reported.
“Over the past two months, I have been bombarded with endless threats, lies, and tragic stories about what my future will be if I don’t write a check for millions of dollars,” Brooke said in a statement to CNN. Ta.
“Hush money is still hush money, more or less. In my mind, it means admitting something you can’t do, something ugly that a human being should never do to another person.” I will,” he said. “We filed a lawsuit against this person almost a month ago against extortion and defamation. We filed anonymously on behalf of both families.”
In the lawsuit, Brooks asked a judge to block the lawsuit to protect Roe from “intentional emotional distress, defamation, and false invasion of privacy.”
CNN has reached out to Yearwood’s representatives for comment but did not receive a response.
