As someone who works in the beauty industry and is always trying out new trends and products, it’s no surprise that my hair is damaged. Most of the time, I’m trying out products that improve the health of my hair, like hair masks, new air-drying techniques, and heat-free curl hacks, but I’ve also tried a lot of things that are damaging to my hair. . For the past few years, I’ve been coloring my hair regularly, but to be honest, I think my hair is starting to hate me.
Lightening my hair not only caused more breakage and damage, but it also put a strain on me mentally. Earlier this summer, after a hair color experiment that ended in a fiasco, I decided to stick with root touch-ups (yes, I’m a victim of premature graying) and gloss. And that was it. To start your journey to healthy hair, we visited celebrity hairstylist Jess Gonzalez. There, she introduced me to a hair treatment that changed my world. Introducing L’Oréal Professionnel Absolute Repair Molecular Leave-in Cream ($38).
Gonzalez is responsible for the hair colors of stars like Billie Eilish, so I knew I could trust her. My hair has never been better. Ahead, read my full review about this product to see how it’s settled into my hair care routine.

What I like about L’Oréal Professionnel Absolute Repair Molecular Leave-in Cream
As you can imagine, my hair is dry and damaged. Now, before you judge me for all the awful things I’ve been through over the past few years, trust me that I have a good routine. I only cleanse a few times a week, sleep on a silk pillowcase, and always apply hair oil and masks. But when I first tested L’Oréal Professionnel Absolute Repair Molecular Leave-in Cream with Gonzalez at Salon Benjamin, I noticed a huge difference in my hair and knew I needed this more permanently in my life.
I have since started incorporating it into my weekly routine and it has made a huge difference in the look and feel of my hair. My hair ends are always untidy and no matter how much care I take, they always look untidy, but with this treatment, my hair became smooth and moisturized. It also reduced frizz at the roots and made my hair feel smoother and shinier overall.
How to use L’Oréal Professional Absolute Repair Molecular Leave-in Cream
PS Photo | Renee Rodriguez
The brand recommends starting by washing and conditioning your hair as usual. After going out, take 2-3 pumps of leave-in and apply evenly to clean, towel-dried hair. (We recommend using a microfiber towel.) Apply product throughout your hair and style as usual.
When I shower, instead of conditioner, I like to use this brand’s hair mask from the same line (I’ll add a shopping link to the product here). I find that this combo really helps my hair look its best. I usually concentrate the leave-in treatment on my hair from the mid-lengths to the ends, then apply the leftover product to the roots. (My hair is fine, so too much product near the scalp tends to make it greasy.) I like to use a wide-toothed comb to comb it all out, and then I usually use a Dyson Airwrap. and choose to blow. Sometimes I let it air dry.
Things to consider before trying L’Oréal Professionnel Absolute Repair Molecular Leave-in Cream
One thing to consider before purchasing this product is that it has a fragrance. I’m quite sensitive to different scents, but I didn’t find this one to be too strong. According to the brand, the scent is a mix of bergamot, mandarin, peony, and white musk. Musk is not my favorite, but this one also didn’t feel too strong and didn’t last long on my hair. However, if you are very sensitive to scents, you might want to test this out before purchasing a full bottle.
