You may think you have a thorough hair washing routine. However, you could be making a huge mistake when it comes to shampooing.
Hair experts have revealed that applying shampoo anywhere other than your roots and scalp is a big no-no.
Chris Wenzel (known as Professor Blowout on YouTube) joined YouTube to share his expertise.
The hair guru gave women tips on how to shampoo properly. He said, “Shampoo doesn’t get on the middle of your body and the tips of your hair.”
“Shampoo can only be used on the roots and scalp.”

Chris explained that oil is only produced in the scalp, meaning the hair doesn’t produce any oil at all.
He says, “Applying shampoo to the mid-lengths and ends when there is no excess oil will strip your hair of its healthy oils and dry it out completely.
“I don’t want to do that. I only use shampoo on my roots and scalp.”
Experts have offered a second shampoo tip for women who want to improve their hair.
Chris emphasized the importance of washing twice, explaining that “the oil is not washed away.”
he said: “If you’ve ever gotten something sticky on your hands, you’ll know that it takes two washes to get that slimy texture off your hands. The same goes for your hair. Wash your hair twice. ”
“The first wash is to remove most of the dirt, oil, and buildup from your hair, but there’s going to be some dirt left in there anyway.
“The second wash is where you thoroughly clean everything. And if you don’t thoroughly clean your hair and there’s oil left behind, it’s like the saying, ‘One bad apple ruins the whole thing.’ It’s something.
“Hair gets frizzy quickly, which is a big deal, because you want to wait as long as possible before washing your hair again.”
Chris also gave us some important tips to ensure the shampoo reaches the right areas.

“When you apply shampoo, apply it only to your scalp, because that’s where the oil is,” he said.
Simply placing shampoo on the top of your head and swirling it around won’t be as effective as the oils won’t reach the “hidden” scalp.
Experts advised women to section their hair into sections and “push the shampoo all the way down” before massaging.
