SAYRE, Pa. (WETM) — A local nurse and hairstylist in Bradford County has been helping elderly clients do something that many people take for granted for more than a year.
Cutting hair may be easy for most people, but for older adults, getting out of the house to perform that basic task can be difficult.
Alyssa Merrill is a traveling hair stylist and nurse from Sayre who launched her business “Beauty on the Road” in August 2023 and works around the community while helping clients with haircuts, hair coloring, and perms. I’m traveling.

When Merrill visits elderly clients, she says she doesn’t just care about their hair, but she also helps them with showers and tasks around the house if needed.
Merrill said she also enjoys interacting with her customers, since many of them may not have family or someone to talk to.
