Dave Annable is embracing the natural salt and pepper look!
In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE at the season 2 premiere of Lioness on October 23rd, the 45-year-old actor expressed his frustration at being allowed to go gray for the thriller series.
“I asked, and they said yes,” he recalled, before adding, “I asked in Yellowstone, and God bless Mr. (Kevin) Costner, he said, ‘No, you I was like, “I’m going to dye it. I’m not going to dye it.” “I don’t want to look that old.” I thought, “Oh, that makes sense.” ”
“Well, I think this is going to work,” he said of his role as Neil in the thriller series “The Lioness.” “You can use it. You look like a doctor.”

In Yellowstone, Annable plays Lee Dutton, the down-on-his-luck son of patriarch John Dutton (Costner). Speaking to PEOPLE in July 2023, the actor revealed that he initially auditioned for the western when his wife Odette introduced him to Yellowstone and Lioness creator Taylor Sheridan.
“I’m from New York. I’ve ridden horses twice in my life,” he laughed at the time. “I didn’t know how much I would love ‘being a cowboy’ and riding horses in the mountains of Montana. It just makes all the difference.”

Although Annable’s time at the ranch was short-lived, Sheridan was considering giving Annable a different role at Lioness.
“I’m so excited. Taylor is amazing. He’s one of the best, most authentic voices we have right now,” he told PEOPLE at the time. “Once we got this cast together, we thought, ‘Oh my God, this is an all-star team.'”
“Taylor said I had a face to kill for,” he added. “Because of this, I thought, ‘You can’t take it twice in a row without killing it.'”
In addition to Annable, Lioness also stars Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Genesis Rodriguez, Raisla de Oliveira, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, Jennifer Ehle, James Jordan, and Austin. Starring Hebert, Jonah Wharton, Bruce McGill and Thad Luckinbill.
