As a beauty editor, I’ve tested hundreds, if not thousands, of products that promise to straighten thick, wavy, unpredictable hair. Through trial and error, I found that my dry hair loves Biolage shampoo and conditioner, loves the splurge-worthy Dyson AirWrap, and guzzles down Verb Ghost Weightless Hair Oil like it’s a job (if you have one) If you have thick, curly hair like me, these are all a must try). But while these staples are non-negotiable in my routine, I’m always on the lookout for new and trending products. Because that’s my job. I recently tested the Native Shampoo and Conditioner Set ($20), which is popular among Amazon shoppers, and it did not disappoint.
Native Shampoo & Conditioner Set is the #1 best seller among all shampoo and conditioner sets on Amazon. This duo comes in a total of six different scent options. The shampoo and conditioner both come in large bottles (16.5 oz) so they last a while. Both the shampoo and conditioner are free of sulfates, parabens, dyes, and silicones.
There’s a lot to like about the Native Shampoo and Conditioner Set. First of all, its value is unparalleled. I compared it to other bottles in my shower and beauty cabinet and found that most bottles are around 10 oz. This duo, on the other hand, is huge at 16.5 ounces per bottle. In other words, you don’t have to use as much product to get a particularly thick lather, so it lasts longer. A quarter-sized amount is enough to wash my long hair well.
Another thing I’m particular about is the coconut and vanilla scent. It reminds me of a tropical coconut sunscreen on a perfect beach day. I’m already excited about how this scent will provide a nice mental escape when winter hits here in Minnesota. But what appeals to me is Native’s commitment to ingredient transparency. The brand keeps its shampoos and conditioners simple with less than 10 ingredients in each formula, and the back of each bottle clearly explains what each ingredient is and what it does. It is explained accurately in words. Honestly, this is what all ingredient lists should be.
We can’t forget that the results of Native’s shampoo and conditioner set were equally impressive. After shampooing, my hair felt like it was thoroughly washed. I applied the conditioner from mid-lengths to ends and let it sit for a few minutes while I shaved. When I got out of the shower and combed my hair with a wet brush, it felt like I’d sprayed it with detangler. It was so easy to comb my hair and left it incredibly soft. Even after blow drying and straightening my hair, it looked amazing – shiny, soft and healthy.
There is one thing to keep in mind before adding this shampoo and conditioner duo to your cart. Some users have noted problems with the pump mechanism. One shopper who reviewed this product wrote, “The shampoo and conditioner both smell great. Unfortunately, the pump is malfunctioning and won’t pop up and I can’t get the product out, so I haven’t been able to use it.” are. 2 stars. “I’m going to have to buy some replacement containers and transfer the shampoo and conditioner so I can use them, but I’m afraid I don’t want to return them.” After a few weeks of testing, I myself have encountered this problem. No, but it’s worth noting that several people have mentioned this issue. However, many people still rave about this formula despite the supposed flaws in the packaging.
The Native shampoo and conditioner set ships in 2 days via Prime on Amazon. It will also be sold directly to consumers on the brand’s website, nativecos.com.
