Getting older doesn’t have to be a negative experience. The same goes for finding gray hair for the first time.
In a post on Reddit’s True Off My Chest, the 31-year-old recently discovered her first gray hair and wrote that she “couldn’t be happier” about it.
“It may sound a little unusual, but I’ve honestly been looking forward to this for years,” she writes. You are taking a step towards full adulthood, becoming wiser and smarter, and shaped by the experiences you have had so far. ”

“At 31 years old, I embrace the aging process with open arms. I’m not afraid of getting older. I’m excited to get older!” she wrote.
“Grey hair, wrinkles, and all the beautiful changes our bodies go through are traces of a life lived. They remind us that we are lucky to continue to grow, learn, and evolve. It’s a reminder,” she added.

The woman added that she wants to encourage others to celebrate “every part of our changing bodies.”
“Let’s change our perspective on aging and realize how lucky we are to be alive and to grow older and to gain wisdom as we grow older,” she added.
Fellow Reddit users took to the comments, saying they largely shared the same opinion.
“Yes!!! I feel the same way. I’m 31 years old too, but I accept change. I’m so happy to have finished the final chapter. It’s been a tough journey, but I’m starting something new. I’m so glad I was able to do that,” was one reply. “Congratulations! We made it this far, we’re lucky to have made it this far.”
“Honestly, I thought it would be sad when I was younger, but I found it a few weeks ago and thought, oh, maybe it’s just my age lol,” added another.

Another commenter said their experience with gray hair is different, but they are trying to change that.
“It was depressing when I first found them. Over the years I’ve grown more, but I’ve been plucking them out. I’m 39 now and I don’t have any visible gray hairs because I’ve plucked them all out. , I know there will soon come a time when I’ll find gray hair that I’ve “picked too hard,” they wrote. “In fact, I’ve already started leaving with a few people and I’m trying to get used to it.”
Yet another reply comes from a commenter who has struggled with gray hair since her “20s” and is already looking forward to the next aging milestone. “Everyone in my family over 40 on my dad’s side has completely gray hair,” one commenter wrote. “I’m excited to be joining the club.”
