Jamie Hall is a hairstylist at Great Clips in Trace Crossing Shopping Center.
Q: How long does it take to get your hair cut?
A: I’ve been cutting hair for almost 35 years. I have worked at Great Clips for 20 years with a particular franchise owner. The store used to be located in South Shades Crest, but we closed that store and consolidated here.
Q: What made you decide to enter this industry?
A: My friend and I started taking this qualification at our high school vocational school. After that, that’s all I’ve ever done.
Q: Why do you care about it? What do you like?
A: I really like the social aspect. I like going out and meeting people and talking to people. I like what I do. I like making people happy. As long as I’m here, there are a lot of people who come to see me every day, so that’s good. We have built a good customer base.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?
A: I like going out in the garden. I like doing things outside. My husband and I moved into a small house in Helena about a year and a half ago, so we now have a little garden.
Q: What do most people not know about you?
A: I have met some famous people. The job I worked for before I came here, the woman I worked for, we got together as a group and went to Montgomery to do hair and makeup for the American Junior Miss Pageant. We went there and did all the hair for the 50 contestants for the Junior Miss Pageant. So when I did that, I met Toby Keith, I met Herschel Walker, I met Deborah Norville.
