Let’s be real. Laundry day is not everyone’s favorite day of the week. If I had infinite money, I would never wash my hair again. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, so I’m going to stick with St. Louis Says for now.
St. Louis Says is a new hair care brand created by Adrian Mezzina and Tim Persley, owners of a long-established Brisbane barber shop.
In launching St. Louis Says, the owners said they wanted to create a salon-quality product line and offer innovative solutions at home. We think we’ve done just that with our Volumizing and Moisture Repair shampoo and conditioner duo.
The packaging of the product alone gives it a very luxurious feel. High quality and soft to the touch, perfect for your bathroom. My only caveat is that the bottles in each set are very consistent in the same shape and size, so there is some concern about accessibility. Check which one you’ve got!
The first of two sets, the Volume Duo, is meant to add strength and volume to fine, fine hair. It uses ingredients like amaranth extract and hydrolyzed rice protein to create this bounce and body without harsh ingredients like parabens or SLS.

This may be a bit sudden, but I think the shampoo lathered very well. After two washes, my hair felt almost squeaky clean. And it feels amazingly smooth after backing it up with conditioner.
As someone with thin hair, I feel like it has added a little more volume, so I’m looking forward to continuing to use it! However, the Moisture Repair Duo was definitely my favorite.
Like Volumising Duo, these products are free of parabens and SLS, and are also vegan and cruelty-free.
The shampoo didn’t lather as much as the volumizing version, but my hair felt more hydrated. After conditioning and drying, my ends felt moisturized for days!
I have very dry, frizzy and damaged hair so I had high expectations and this duo definitely met them.
As for pricing, each bottle retails for $23, and the duo is $42. Each is 350 mL, so that comes out to about $6.50 per 100 mL. It’s about half the price of the shampoo and conditioner I usually use, Redken All Soft.
If you’re on the high end of your hair care journey, I highly recommend giving it a try.
