A new hair removal clinic is opening in Stockport town centre.
SMP Clinic, based at Aurora Studios (22 Deanery Way), will be holding an open day to introduce its new clinic today (Friday 11 October) from 6.30pm.
Our clinic provides hair removal services for men and women.
The company already has a popular branch in Macclesfield, attracting customers from as far as Plymouth for skin micropigmentation services.

Our sister newspaper Macclesfield Nub News met the two people behind the business to find out what SMP Clinic is all about.
“I run the clinic side of the business where Matt runs the training academy,” said technician Elita Aleinikova.
“SMP stands for scalp micropigmentation,” said Matthew Sulser. He himself has undergone skin micropigmentation using Elita.
“This is a hair loss treatment. Elle has perfected what we call the ‘au natural’ technique, which involves placing ink pigments in soap to recreate hair follicles. “It gives the illusion of hair growth on a shaved head.”

“It feels amazing. We call our mirror the Confidence Mirror because by the third session with our clients, we see an amazing change in their mood.”
“Take for example a man in his 50s who looks in the mirror and sees his life shortened by 10 years.
“We have a lot of clients who are getting married and want hair removal. Some have been bald for a long time, others have thinning hair and are just starting to remove it and are feeling confident. But what will happen? What we can do is restore that confidence.
“We do what’s called a density fill on women as well, which is where you part your hair and fill it in with ink. It’s not like a tattoo, but it gives the illusion that there are hair follicles or that there are hair follicles. Carefully placed particles for thicker, fuller hair.
“Men in general are used to losing hair, but women less so, so it’s a big deal for women.”

Believe it or not, many inquiries start with wives or partners finding out about this treatment on social media and sending it to their husbands.
“We’ve been doing this for almost four years,” Matthew added.

“But this (Macclesfield) clinic opened about two years ago.
“Scars from failed hair transplants can also be camouflaged to look like hair.
“This process spans multiple appointments, each taking several hours.
This process is not meant to be rushed. However, it provides a more relaxed environment for customers, allowing them to get to know the business and the people behind it, increasing their confidence in the whole process and getting used to the new look. (Image – Macclesfield Nub News)
“After applying the ink, you need to rest for three days, but as long as you don’t sweat or shower, you can work on it.
“Then we’ll give you a good oil to keep your scalp nice and supple. Then we’ll see you again in 10 days to see if the ink has set.”
Hygiene and customer engagement are top priorities for small independent businesses.
Elle listed what she likes about her job. “I love the end result where they look in the mirror and say, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe it.'”

“I love changing lives and restoring confidence to people.”
“Elle is the best at her job,” Matthew added.
“The technique she has mastered uses three different needles, and some of the dots she uses look like actual lines to recreate hair follicles.
“I previously worked in medical sales. My hair removal journey started 10 years ago, which led to us going into business and starting this job. Elle We’ve done this before, but now we can work for ourselves and train others through our training academy.” ”
