Insiders claim that Rachel Reeves changed her hair color because she feared the reputation of Iron Chancellor.
The prime minister previously sported a dark brown bob, but swapped it out for a lighter ginger color earlier this month.
Some sources claim that Reeves deliberately softened his expression because he was concerned about his image as an “iron chancellor.”
Specialist stylist Francesca Cairns said the Prime Minister’s new hair color was meant to “help convey a sense of approachability, especially at a time when she is making difficult decisions”.
Cairns added that lighter hair that doesn’t contrast too much with her skin may help Reeves “balance authority and relatability.”
The stylist told the Mail that the color change took several sessions, as she had to use bleach to lighten it from brown to ginger.
Reeves’ team is concerned about her position as chancellor if her next budget is unpopular and her popularity wanes, the people said.
Conservative MPs will receive styling advice from Women2Win, the Tory group co-founded by Theresa May and Anne Jenkin.
Clients are given “color seasons” with names like “Soft Summer,” “Deep Winter,” and “Light Spring,” and are told which colors and styles look good on them.
Ms Cairns said the Prime Minister had a “deep autumn look” and looked good in a deeper hair tone.
A source close to Reeves said, “When was the last time you asked about the skin color of a male prime minister before Rachel?”
