Fall is finally here, and with the new season comes fun and quirky hairstyles that are easy, manageable, and dare I say, thoughtful. It’s quick and easy to do, so in seconds you’ll have your favorite action that lasts all day long. To get you started in the right direction, we’ve picked five of our favorite hair accessories for fall and show you exactly how to wear them.
1. French pin
@alexgaboury
French pins, which are simple metal pins, give you a soft yet attractive look. You can pin your hair in seconds without causing any damage. French pins can be used to secure all kinds of styles, including this half-up twist.
To get the look, start by taking a section of hair and twisting it around your fingers. Once this shape is formed, you can form it into a tight loaf shape, or you can leave the existing shape created with your fingers and insert the pin upside down from below, press in and flip it over. Once the pins are secure, leave them in until you’re ready to let your hair down. (Check out this tutorial for a visual how-to!).
2. Hair ribbon
@cheban_alena
Hair ribbons are still very popular. From the runways to the hallways, we’re seeing bows and bows adding a soft, cheerful touch to everyday fits. Try adding a classic bow to your half-up, half-down look, or add a pop of texture and color by weaving ribbon into your braids.
3. Hair jewelry
@shakedbraids
Hair jewelry may be classified as a bold choice, but a few gems here and there can complete an understated and unique look. Try tucking some metal flowers into a loose braid or flashing a gem through a low bun. We love these adhesive pearls that stick to your hair for added elegance. The key to staying discreet? Less is definitely more.
4. Silk scarf
@chickayy
Evoke classic Hollywood glamor with a silk headscarf. Raid your grandma’s closet or head to the thrift store to find a scarf that speaks to you (cheetah print? bold colors? floral? whatever fits your mood!). Then fold it in half to make a triangle, wrap it over your head, and tie the two loose parts around your ponytail or bun. Or go full glam by covering your entire head and tying a scarf under your chin. Dramatic and dreamy.
5. Claw clip
@Daily Shushu
These hair holders are one of the basics and there’s a reason for that. It’s often the easiest and most stylish choice. These clips, which come in a variety of colors, designs, and textures, can add a fun element to your outfit while holding your hair securely. This hair accessory and look draws the right amount of attention to itself. Depending on the clip you choose, it can be subtle or noticeable. Moreover, it is very easy to use. Just twist your hair, open your nails, and secure with a clamp.
