There are many ways to support cancer patients, and most of them don’t involve donating parts of your body.
I’m not particularly attached to myself.
People always want to donate because this woman has long hair, but she stands adamant that it’s not what she wants.
Read on to find out why this person is buckling under pressure.
Next month in my country is Pink October, breast cancer awareness, and somehow everyone seems to be begging me to donate my hair to charity.
I have long, fine, wavy, voluminous hair and that’s the only thing I’m wasting. No make-up, no flashy clothes, nothing.
Apply pressure from all angles.
First, it was my therapist.
I had my hair cut last month, and I kept saying that I didn’t have the courage to do so, but she kept saying, “It’s only 10cm long.”
As the clinic coordinator, she said she was going to bring a hairdresser or go to the salon with me.
And at school, there is social pressure from teachers, staff, classmates, everyone…
A hairdresser is coming to school next week. I’m ugly and insecure. The only thing I get compliments on is my hair. I’m not planning on cutting my hair.
Although a noble cause, I have other ways to help them.
And then the guilt journey begins in earnest.
They beg me and say I have an obligation to donate because it’s not a big amount, but I don’t want to donate.
Since it’s long, I have to donate in everyone’s name.
I have a teacher who repeats the same project over and over because it was her idea. So I’m taking a longer, different route to avoid seeing her.
AITA if you skip school that day?
“Poor children don’t have a choice, but you do have a choice.” There was only one person who cared about it.
I just want to hide in my basement and come back on November 1st.
People are saying:
My mother would have done the same.
By the way, her wig was fake and looked and felt exactly like her beautiful real hair.
Don’t let those people upset you.
absolutely. Gaslighting and pressure on students is unacceptable.
absolutely. I think that somehow makes me feel noble.
absolutely. How did she get her license?
your hair. It’s your choice.
