face fringe

If you’ve been wanting to try bangs, this fall is the perfect time. Celebrity hairstylist and Fekkai Five ambassador Jenny Cho says to go all out with a fringe that frames your face.
Fringe can be worn in a variety of ways, including short, blunt sides or wispy layers. Cho likes to pair it with loose waves, and recommends using something like Fekkai Clean Stylers Glossing Cream+ to give them definition and shine.
swinging bob

Bobs transcend seasons thanks to their versatility and continue to grow even when the weather cools. “It’s the perfect time to get unstuck from summer and wear a fresh, chic look for the weather in scarves and turtlenecks,” says Mara Roszak, celebrity hairstylist and founder of Rose. “The bob is so versatile that there’s a style for every hair type.”
Roszak says it’s best to choose a bob that has a lot of swinging movement. To exude a cool girl vibe, she emphasizes proper hair care to keep her hair strong and healthy. Something like the new Rōz Foundation Mask will keep your hair moisturized and treat damage. You can also add body to your short hair by adding a deep, side-swept side part, like Zendaya here.
bohemian braids

Celebrity hairstylist Lacey Redway says goddess braids, also known as bohemian braids, will continue to be trendy into fall as a low-maintenance, protective style. You can also wear your braids in a high pony for a chic on-the-go look, as seen by Tyra.
hairy layers

Long layers are an easy way to level up any length style. When it comes to haircut trends, Cho likes shag cuts and recommends using a bodybuilding spray to give your hair volume and bounce.
stylish & short
If you want to control your hair, stylish short hairstyles are the best choice. Image: Instagram/@lilyjcollins
Roszak says the allure of fall is a sophisticated blowout with an ultra-smooth feel. Redway agrees, saying you can take it a step further with a short, slicked-back style using something like the Nexxus Slick Stick for control that doesn’t weigh down your hair.
60s retro

Whether you’re feeling a sleek high pony or a beehive updo, Redway says ’60s hairstyles will be our main source of inspiration this fall. I say. Here, she styled her long Emmy Rossum hair into a sleek high ponytail and added some volume to the ends for a truly beautiful look.
sophisticated updo

It’s very modest. I’m very attentive. A sophisticated updo, perfect for when you’re going somewhere fancy (or looking cute put together while apple picking), is Cho’s pick for this fall’s best hairstyles.
rocker edge

Cho also says to channel your inner rock star and explore messy waves and textures. Miley Cyrus’ two-tone waves are so cool.
bow on bow

Headband inspired by Blair Waldorf. Coquette bows. Lelet pony cufflinks. Both Cho and Redway agree that hair accessories will be in the spotlight this fall. “I feel like we’re not done seeing chunky headbands and exaggerated bows yet,” Redway says. “Hair accessories are always a great way to express your style and change up your hairstyle.”
owner hair

Redway said she has seen an increase in customers complimenting her curly hair and natural texture, and predicts she will continue to see more people grow it out. For example, Tracee Ellis Ross’s voluminous fro sits perfectly at your collarbone, giving you a regal look.
blonde ambition

Experts are calling blonde the hottest hair color trend for fall. Redway says to choose warm tones and work with your colorist to find the right shade that complements your skin tone. Sabrina Carpenter’s honey blonde is luxurious and cozy for the fall season.
