Bowen * Young has released a reimagined and electrifying version of their anthemic song “Hair of the Dog” featuring award-winning British singer-songwriter Kezia Gill. Fresh off their ‘The Story So Far’ tour across the UK and Ireland, Kezia lends her powerful vocals to this new version, adding even more intensity to the Nashville-based duo’s sound. .
The collaboration began when Bowen Young and Kezia Gill met backstage at the Highway Festival at London’s Royal Albert Hall. After an impromptu jam session, Claire Bowen and Brandon Young were struck by the natural chemistry between them and Gil, leading to this energetic collaboration. “This is a song about picking yourself up, dusting yourself off, and remembering who you really are,” Bowen Young said, reflecting on the song’s meaning. Keziah Gill added: “I love their energy and our voices were a perfect fit. I’m so happy to be a part of this song. I love this song and can’t wait to get it out there.”
The original “Hair of the Dog” appears on Bowen Young’s debut album Us, a 10-song collection produced with Sean McConnell and Roger Alan Nichols. In its cinematic Americana style, Us delves into themes of resilience, love, and unity. Read the album review here.
