Kevin Costner always keeps his on-screen image on top.
Dave Annable, who co-starred with the Dances with Wolves actor in Yellowstone, recently said the Oscar winner told him to change his appearance to avoid unfavorable physical comparisons.

“I asked and they said yes for this one,” Annable told PEOPLE while discussing her current series, “Lioness.” Thanks to this, he was able to keep his natural white hair for the role. “When I asked him in Yellowstone, God bless Mr. (Kevin) Costner, he said, ‘No, you’re going to dye it. I don’t want to look that old.’ I thought, ‘Oh, that makes sense.’
In the spy drama, Annable plays Neil, a surgeon who is the husband of Joe, played by Zoe Saldaña. “Well, I think this works,” the actor said of his gray hair. “You can use it. You look like a doctor.”
“Lioness” is another action drama from Taylor Sheridan, who previously co-starred with Annable in “Yellowstone.” Annable played Lee, the son of Costner’s character John Dutton, in the Western series, but ultimately killed him off in the first episode.

Although his time at the Dutton Ranch was short, Annable said he was surprised by how much he enjoyed the cowboy lifestyle. “I’m from New York. I’ve ridden horses twice in my life,” he told PEOPLE in 2023. “I never imagined how much I would love being a cowboy and being in the mountains of Montana.” So horses are all different. ”
Annable was grateful to have a more fulfilling role in Lioness. “I’m so excited. Taylor is amazing. He’s one of the best, most authentic voices we have right now,” he said last year. , this is an all-star team. ”
That all-star team also includes Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, Martin Donovan, and La Isla de Oliveira.
However, Anable is a little worried about the stability of his job. “Taylor said I had a face to kill for,” he said. “Because of this, I thought, ‘You can’t take it twice in a row without killing it.'”
