Once you find a style that works, there’s no harm in sticking with it. At least, that seems to be Angelina Jolie’s motto. She repurposed the metallic dress this weekend for the premiere of her film Maria at the 2024 American Film Institute Festival. This is the third time this month we’ve seen the actress wear a sexy dress, but she pulled off her best look yet.
Jolie, a veteran costume repeater, hit the red carpet wearing a silvery gold dress. The elegant silhouette features a high, rounded neckline and a soft bias cut. She paired it with metallic pointy pumps.

Jolie has previously styled the dress with both a gray blazer and a textured black coat, but her latest take was the most glamorous. Here, she left most of her shiny gown exposed, allowing its details to fully shine. A charcoal wrap was draped over her shoulders and her arms were covered with billowing sleeves. The actress completed her look with a chunky gold bracelet and matching gold drop earrings.

But it was her charm that brought the most drama to her ensemble. Jolie wore her highlighted hair in teased curls to create a voluminous “do” that injected her look with the same high theatricality as her latest film. Bold red lipstick elevated her makeup, and she sported a matching bright scarlet nail polish.
Jolie plays the role of real-life 20th century opera singer Maria Callas in Maria, a psychological drama that reimagines the famous Greek-American soprano’s final days before her death in 1977.
