When it comes to red carpets, you can always count on Angelina Jolie to have two things on her bingo card. She has deep red lips and smooth side-parted hair.
Over the years, she’s cultivated an understated Old Hollywood aesthetic by pairing Veronica Lake-esque waves with silk figure-hugging dresses. In particular, her halter neck dress at the 2004 Oscars was an homage to (and wore again) Marilyn Monroe. Sidney Sweeney at this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar party.
But for her latest look, she decided it was time to drastically change her hair. At the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie Maria on October 26, Angelina Jolie sported a new hairstyle that’s a cross between brushed disco curls and ’80s-style prom curls.

The ringlets, styled by hairstylist Renato Campora, draped over one shoulder and swung around her face like a halo on the other. To add extra dimension, her roots are kept dark with finely spun “glow lights” on the mid-length and ends, making them look blonde or vintage gold depending on how the light hits them.
