hampshire Clippings, stories, or countless shares. I told you, this is my Mona Lisa. Like many salons, Nicholas & Rhoda Hair Design in Salem, New Hampshire is a place where our loyal customers become family. My neighbor who has been coming here for 30 years said he had to go get a haircut with Nick. But this was Will Boucher’s first time sitting in this chair. When I first met Nick behind the wheel a few months ago, he said he was so impressed by the view that he had to share it with the Chronicle. you too. I looked up and saw this picture, and it was a picture of an eagle holding an American flag. I looked at the other paintings, especially the eagle there. It’s a full face photo and I think it’s amazing, really special. So he wrote us a letter. I’ve been watching the Chronicle for years and I know you’re always looking for nice little stories of local people about what they do. Next is art. There are not many people who can achieve this type of haircut, and there have never been many. I have seen the beauty he painted on canvas. Paint it and put it in storage at the back. paint. Please put it in the storage place. Do you have a favorite person to draw? beauty. beauty of life. But beauty can be found everywhere. that’s right. In a studio in the basement of his home in Methuen, he brings his canvases to life. Wildlife city landscape, nature in all its forms. All of them have stories. Wheat means life to me. life? Yes, I know it’s like a substance, but no, it means more to me than that. It’s nutrition. that’s right. It’s like a continuation of life. how? Just like the ears, this is the heart. It’s a heart. Was that intentional or not? Yeah. Somewhat. yes. One day I was thinking about hope. Hope means that no matter what happens, life should not leave you and will always return. Nick says hope brought him to America. The good people of America. They give you a chance to grow. If you work hard and knock on doors, you can knock on any door. it will be opened for you. here. He grew up in Syria and worked as a civil engineer before immigrating in the late 1980s. He said he worked three jobs every day for more than 10 years before opening his hair salon with his wife, Rhoda. Although his dreams came true one after another, his engineering skills did not translate into a career here. My engineering background taught me how to do things like vanishing points. Such a three-dimensional eagle’s eye view of Boston’s waterfront. He studied every angle, every position. However, Nick has never seen many of his paintings in person. Sometimes when I’m watching TV, like a YouTube show or something, all of a sudden a really nice, fleeting scene appears. I said, “That’s what I’m going to paint that picture.” He does it for pleasure. It’s very personal. Some people like it. Some people are fine, others are very personal. His home is an impressive adventure from the sea to the city to distant lands. However, it was this land that opened the door. I call this the Mona Lisa. This is your Mona Lisa. This is what brought us here. that’s right. All my friends there, Nick, said we should do something for the 4th of July. I thought this was a good idea because I just want to say thank you, America. Thank you to everyone in America for being so good to me. And when he saw the painting, he said to me, Nick, this painting should go out into the world. everyone needs to see it. And that’s what he did. One day, a man was sitting in a chair just looking for decorations when he discovered a talent to be shared. It’s funny how dreams take flight. And Nicole added that Nick is self-taught. He says he draws inspiration from the beautiful things in life. He says he sometimes sells some of the paintings in his salon at the request of clients, but otherwise, he wasn’t sure what to do with them until The Chronicle visited. says. He is currently venturing into the world of Instagram. That link can be found on our website.

At Nicholas and Roda Hair Design in Salem, New Hampshire, our loyal customers are like family. But for customer Will Beecher, a recent visit was different. It was his first time sitting in Nick Toweel’s chair, but something made him want to share this place and this person with the Chronicle and its viewers. “I looked up and saw a painting of an eagle holding a flag. I looked around at other paintings like it and thought, ‘Wow, this is really special,'” Beecher said. In his studio, Tawil brings life to his canvases: wildlife, cityscapes, and nature in all its forms. Each one tells a story. Originally from Syria, he worked three jobs for more than a decade before quitting his career as a civil engineer and opening his own salon with his wife, Roda. This is a personal endeavor for him, some love it, others are indifferent. For Taweel, it’s about sharing his vision and joy. The House of Tawil is an impressive adventure, capturing scenes from the sea to the city to far-flung lands.
