If there’s one person in Hollywood with a trademark sexy look, it’s Angelina Jolie. Since her debut in Cyberpunk 2077, she’s almost always sported her trademark smoky eye and dark hair. But more recently, she’s been embracing brighter hair colors and softer makeup. And in her latest feature for CR Fashion Book, the Oscar-winning actress goes far beyond her usual styling, stepping out with big curls to talk about her fashion line, Atelier Jolie, and life as a mother.
The instantly iconic image was taken by Swiss-Italian photography team Luigi & Iango and features Jolie posing in clothes from her own collection. The draped dress she wears is undeniably dramatic, but it’s no exaggeration to say that it was her daring hairstyle that stole the show: instead of her usual straight, center-parted look, the photo sees tight curls flowing around her in the most spectacular way.

In the accompanying interview, Jolie spoke about her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, and herself being a mother, saying, “The moment you become a parent, you’re no longer number one. Your life belongs to someone else. And that’s a beautiful feeling.”
Jolie also said that while she has become known for her humanitarian work as well as her acting career, her philanthropic efforts come from something she learned from her mother: seeing families suffering all over the world inspired her to want to help in any way she could.
“My mother was a very internationally-minded, thoughtful person who often spoke to me about injustice,” Jolie said, adding that “her worldview was heavily shaped by her refugee family, and I have a lot of respect for them.”

Jolie will be returning to the big screen in “Maria,” a biopic about the final years of opera singer Maria Callas, and she said it took her a long time to prepare for the role of soprano, requiring her to immerse herself completely in the performance.
“I would sit in the dark for hours and listen to her music. She is her music and through it you can get to know her and feel her if you let yourself,” Jolie explained. She also said the experience was therapeutic, adding, “In a way, it was the therapy I didn’t know I needed.”
