As we shake off the blankets and pack away the bikinis, we acknowledge that summer is over. What a sassy season it was. Gigi Hadid is marking the transition to back to school by ditching her ever-growing platinum locks for a soft, warm, slightly more manageable cashmere blonde.
Gigi was spotted running errands in New York City on September 24, sporting a noticeable new hairstyle and hair color. The color is a lustrous shade that’s just a touch darker than the color she sported last year.

‘Cashmere blonde’ is achieved with all-over highlights. “Clients ask for a softer blonde that’s not as dramatic,” top London hair colourist Gemma Smidmore tells GLAMOUR, adding, “Cashmere blonde gives a soft look and because it’s very finely woven into the dye, it grows very slowly at the hairline. It also helps with hair type and condition, as you don’t need to use a ton of bleach to achieve the look. It’s a real mix of tones.”
“If you’re a blonde, you don’t want your colour to look too expensive,” Gemma explains. “It’s super soft, super fine and delicate little braided lights that blend cool and warm colours into your hair… they grow out unnoticeably and give you a light, luxurious blonde look.”
When we last checked in on Hadid on September 20, her hair was darker and her roots had been carefully grown out.
