NEW YORK , Sept. 25, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — SEEN, the award-winning haircare brand developed by Harvard-trained dermatologist Dr. Iris Rubin, has closed $9 million in Series A funding. The investment will accelerate SEEN’s growth as a premier scientifically backed, clinically proven beauty brand located at the intersection of multiple multi-billion dollar markets, including haircare, sensitive skin, acne, eczema, dry scalp and thinning hair.

The round was fully underwritten with strong participation from existing and new strategic investors, including Danaher Corporation co-founder Mitch Rales, Somerville SPV led by prominent investor Feroz Dewan, permanent capital investor Sutter Grove Holdings, and Ulta Beauty Inc. board member George Murconick. SEEN also received early funding from prominent Harvard dermatologists and scientists, including Dr. Rox Anderson of Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital.

Our mission is to empower people to get hair done with confidence by providing salon-quality hair care products that are clinically proven to be gentle on skin.”

“Our Series A funding will allow us to focus on innovation, further expand our professional sampling to 10,000 dermatology clinics and expand our retail footprint in 2025,” said Greg Maged, co-founder of SEEN. “We’ve grown 100% annually since launch and have consistently outperformed Ulta’s same-brand sales projections.”

Pioneering the “skinning” of haircare, SEEN bridges the gap between luxury haircare and skincare. The brand’s success stems from Dr. Rubin’s groundbreaking insight that haircare products can clog pores and irritate skin, causing problems like acne and eczema. After struggling with breakouts for years, Dr. Rubin identified haircare products as the culprit. After four years of development, SEEN launched in 2019 with three core hair products and has since grown into a complete line of haircare and styling products.
