Gina Kirschenheiter’s son, Nicholas, is trying out a new hairstyle, and cast members of The Real Housewives of Orange County are giving their thoughts on it.

“(Instagram moms) what do we think about this?” Gina captioned an Instagram post on September 24, in which she appears sitting in a car. Gina shared that her “(preteen) son” has had some interesting hairstyles lately, and wondered if other moms are “experiencing this phenomenon” with their kids.
“I can’t stop thinking about this,” Gina begins in the video. “My son comes downstairs to go to school, and he’s been obsessed with his hair lately, and he spends a lot of time upstairs fixing his hair.[But]he comes downstairs, and I say, ‘Nicholas, I don’t think you’ve combed your hair,’ and he says, ‘Yeah, mommy, I haven’t combed my hair.'”
Gina revealed why she was even more amazed by her son’s interesting aesthetic: “I was like, ‘So what were you doing over there for 20 minutes fixing your hair?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, I was fixing my hair,'” she continued. “I was like, ‘Okay, so is this how you want it to look?’ … and he had it perfectly realized in his mind.”
Gina then said she eventually gave up trying to understand the thought process behind her son’s appearance. “Obey God, my son,” she joked. “I mean, at this point I don’t have anything left to say!”
Gina Kirschenheiter’s Hair Evolution
Over the years, Gina has tried out a variety of colors and styles, from long sandy-colored hair to a dark brunette to her current bright blonde bob.
For example, in a March 2019 photo, Gina revealed that she once had long, dark brown hair. “(Throwback Thursday) My college graduation and dark hair!” Gina captioned an Instagram photo of herself in her cap and gown from her Hofstra University graduation (click here to see where other RHOC cast members went to college).
Since then, Gina has tried out different looks and faced some strong opinions along the way.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish in 2022, Gina reflected on her hair transformation over the years and spoke about the beauty challenges she faced along the way. “The terrible state of my hair over the last few years was a great representation of where I was in my life,” the West Coast mom, who has dealt with personal struggles on RHOC, including her 2019 divorce, said in the interview.
Things have changed since then. Gina said in an interview for Season 16 that she’s had “a ton” of requests from fans to post tutorials for pearl-embellished looks. “It’s so exciting,” she told The Daily Dish. “I read everything you all write.”
