Emma Chamberlain answered, “Yes!”
In a YouTube video shared on Monday, September 15, the influencer revealed to her fans how she realized it was “time to cut her hair.”
Chamberlain, 23, begins the video with dramatic organ music and close-up photos and videos of people’s hair, then uses a giant notepad and whiteboard to tell the story of his “hair history,” dating back to 2019.
The content creator reflects on her own hair transformation, from naturally brown hair to dyeing it partially blonde to going completely blonde: “And now I understand why people always say blondes have more fun, because when I was blonde, I had so much fun.”

“Until all my hair fell out,” she said after a pause. Chamberlain noted that frequently bleaching her hair had made it brittle and caused it to break.
In 2021, Chamberlain said she “dyed my hair back to brown,” describing it as a healing phase. But she eventually went back to blonde and cut it into a bob. “I was recreating my blonde days from years ago,” she said, before picking up an orange marker and coloring in a doodle of blonde with orange hair.
She dyed her hair orange because she “wanted to do something different,” and the YouTuber couldn’t decide whether her hair was “really cool” or “totally ugly.”
Chamberlain then grew tired of her orange hair and wanted it to go back to brown, but unfortunately, she made the mistake of getting a new hairstylist to style it for her, which resulted in her having “unkempt, dark hair.”

After dying her hair black, she asked the hairdresser to change her hair color back to brown. The hairdresser applied the product to her hair and returned to her car. She picked up the bottle and saw the word “hydrogen peroxide” on the label. She ran her fingers through her hair and noticed that hair was falling out.
In the video, Chamberlain considers how to best express herself with long hair and considers “risky” haircuts as a solution. After extensive research on Pinterest, she narrowed it down to six short hairstyles.
She consults with her family and stylists about her choice of hairstyle, then heads off to have her hair cut and colored while Mendelssohn’s Wedding March plays. Chamberlain’s hairstyle choice is likened to a big decision.
She finally showed off the final result, captioning it, “Blonde is so much more fun.” Chamberlain also posted about her hair transformation on Instagram, exciting many, including Kendall Jenner, who also recently went blonde. “Hold on, blondes, let’s play together,” Jenner, 28, wrote.

Her Instagram post also included a definition of hair theory, writing: “How we choose to style our hair has a huge impact on how others see us and how we see ourselves (according to the internet).”
