Always one for the dramatic, Lady Gaga attended the London premiere of Joker: Folie à Deux last night in a custom fire-engine red two-piece ensemble by Celine by Hedi Slimane, accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Gaga took the nonchalance of her on-screen Harley Quinn persona a step further by trading in her shiny, old Hollywood platinum blonde hair for a choppy, cola-red Harley Quinn bob with brow-grazing bangs.

Gaga’s new look was most likely due to a flawless hairpiece by wig designer Frederic Aspiras. With a textured finish and exaggerated lines, the wig was a perfect match for her floor-length Celine dress. Longtime makeup collaborator Sarah Tano helped her achieve Harley Quinn vibes with pale skin, bold turquoise eyeshadow and bleached eyebrows. Sparkly tears and red lips completed the jaw-dropping beauty moment. That same night, Gaga styled her hair into an ’80s-inspired mullet with shaggy bangs.

From Gigi Hadid’s razor bob to Camila Cabello’s take on the Birkin, bobs are truly making a splash this year. It’s no surprise that Gaga has embraced the trend, transforming like a chameleon on the red carpet and making it her own. It’s not for the faint of heart, so if you’re considering this drastic change, making sure you have a good wig in place before you take the plunge is a good option.

Gaga’s autumnal red tone is still a big trend this year (Pinterest saw a 520% increase in searches for “cherry cola red” hair in August), and it’s especially effective for brunettes looking for an impactful change without overly lightening their hair.
I’ll be saving this look for my Halloween mood board in October.
