After spending the summer swimming in chlorinated pools and letting the sun burn my hair, my already dry hair started looking even drier, even after lathering up my favorite hair oil. I also color my hair and have a naturally curly (and frizzy) hair texture, so I knew I needed an extra step in my hair care routine. The last hair mask I honestly tried didn’t do much to revitalize my dull, damaged hair, but after hearing people rave about Briogeo’s Don’t Despair, Repair! ‘s Deep Conditioning Hair Mask ($15-$39) has been trending on social media and I thought it was worth at least trying.

What we love about Briogeo Don’t despair, fix it! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask
Even the largest size (8-ounce tub) costs less than $40, which is significantly cheaper than other options I’ve cycled through my shopping cart. It also only needs to be left on for 10 minutes and only needs to be applied once a week. Aside from the low threshold for commitment, the most exciting thing is that you can actually see results after the first treatment. I immediately noticed a difference in the texture of my hair and it felt softer. Frizz control is also good. I usually get tiny hairs with just a little moisture, but the essential fatty acids in rosehip oil help give my hair a shiny coating. I also appreciate that it’s made with nearly all-natural ingredients and is free of ingredients I actively avoid, like sulfates, phthalates, parabens, petrochemicals, and silicones. It’s not too sweet and leaves a slight fruity scent.
How to use Briogeo Don’t despair, fix it! deep conditioning hair mask
After shampooing, massage into the hair from the roots to the ends. Aim for a uniform and beautiful coat overall. Wash off after 10 minutes. The instructions say to use it weekly until you get the desired results. Once that happens, you can switch to biweekly application if needed.
Things to consider before trying Briogeo Don’t despair, get it fixed. deep conditioning hair mask
I have thick hair, so if I have time, I leave the mask on for about 15 minutes. I also follow up with a spray of Briogeo’s Don’t Despair, Repair! Moisture + Damage Defense Leave-in Treatment. This may also increase the effectiveness of the hair mask. All I know is that if it can be this effective after just two treatments, I can’t wait to see how my hair evolves after a few months of use.
Where can I find Briogeo? Don’t despair, fix it! Are deep conditioning hair masks available?
