Rihanna spoke candidly about postpartum hair loss at the Fenty Hair launch party.
In an interview with Refinery29 at an event in Los Angeles on Monday, the Grammy-winning singer and beauty mogul talked about her and rapper A$AP Rocky’s sons, 2-year-old RZA, and what she’s expecting after the birth of 10. She revealed how she deals with postpartum symptoms. – Riots a month ago.
“I didn’t expect it to happen in waves. I thought it would just happen and get bigger,” she said.

She revealed that her hair started falling out in parts after giving birth, but she didn’t even know this side effect was “on the pamphlet.” She added, “At that point, you’re just like, ‘Okay, enough is enough.'”
Hair removal marked the beginning of a new journey for the superstar, and he responded by coming up with “more creative and clever” hairstyles. Over the past few months, these styles have included bubblegum pink curls, honey blonde layers, braided updos, and more. But one of her biggest hair statements recently was showing off her natural curls for the launch of Fenty Hair. Last weekend, she was spotted in New York City with her natural hair (stylishly complemented by a John Galliano mink fur coat and vintage Louis Vuitton x Sprouse Alma bag).

Speaking at a Fenty Hair event, Rihanna talked about her motivations for starting the hair care line.
“As I evolve as a woman and even as an artist, hair has been a big part of that and reflects everything I’m feeling,” she said. “So I changed a lot and my hair got really damaged. I had to take all of that into consideration when creating this brand. I want to look good, but I want my hair to be healthy. How do I do that?” All of my products need to be enhanced and repaired while I’m just awesome.”
