First, let me state the obvious. There’s nothing wrong with being bald. You don’t need hair, and you’re not the only one who loses it. In fact, an estimated half of men experience significant hair loss before the age of 50. But we also know that the experience of baldness can take a serious toll on a man’s self-esteem. The industry is ready to deal with the fallout. From topical treatments to next-generation transplants to hair growth “helmets,” there are no better options for men with hair problems. And some of them are pretty exciting.

Before you take out the big guns, there are many more cost-effective options to consider (you can start by looking at some of the articles in the collection below). For example, if you just want to maintain your hair, a good shampoo and proper washing habits will go a long way. Men who are a little further along in their personal growth journey may want to consider both clinically proven oral and topical medications that can slow the rate of hair loss and even promote healthy regrowth. Maybe.

Non-invasive clinical treatment
Although transplantation provides permanent results, it can be a long and difficult process. Non-invasive treatments with little or no downtime are becoming increasingly popular. At Ouronyx in London, we offer two advanced hair removal treatments available during your lunch break.
Autologous micrografting technique
This is a newer, more advanced alternative to plasma platelet-rich injections, but instead of using blood, three small grafts of healthy hair follicles are harvested and a suspension of hair follicle stem cells is injected into them. Create one and inject it into your scalp. Although it doesn’t actually grow new hair follicles, this formula is highly effective at stopping hair loss and awakening sleeping follicles to grow a thicker mane, with an 80% success rate in increasing hair density. . Effects last up to 18 months and additional treatments can be given. £2,850 per treatment
Tricopat hair growth agent
Advanced delivery system that increases the effectiveness of growth factor serum. A dermabrasion tool with a 0.25mm needle is used to create microscopic wounds on the scalp to help serum penetrate and increase the supply of oxygen and nutrients. The treated scalp is then subjected to LED lights, pressure waves, and electrical stimulation to further stimulate blood circulation and extend the hair growth phase, the anagen phase. A 2021 study of 30 men found that the total number of hairs per square centimeter increased by 14.61% and hair diameter increased by 13.62% after six months. The course includes four 20-minute sessions every three weeks. £1,350

stem cell technology
Stem cells are like magic beans to address multiple problems. We spoke to Munir Somji of Dr MediSpa Clinic, who is a key figure in the development of stem cell hair transplantation.
What is Stem Cell Hair Transplant?
A small sample of a healthy follicle is taken and cloned. We grow healthy dermal papilla cells in the lab and reintroduce them into the scalp.
What are the benefits?
Since large numbers of dermal papilla cells can be generated from a single hair follicle, there is no need to harvest existing hair follicles on a large scale, but the expanded cells can be transplanted into the scalp. Essentially, the supply of hair from the donor area of the head is never limited and the supply of new hair follicle cells is almost unlimited.
When will this procedure be available?
Five years ago, we thought we were ready to roll this out, but further adjustments are needed. It may take another five years.
follicle bank
Why not save your healthy follicles for future use? Bessam Farjo, hair restoration surgeon and co-founder of Farjo Hair Institute, collaborated with hair removal biotech HairClone to develop this technology. We provide services.
What is hair cloning?
This cutting-edge technology involves collecting and preserving hair follicle cells using cryopreservation. The process begins by extracting 100 hair follicles, usually from the back of the scalp. They are then cryopreserved (frozen) to ensure viability for later use when cloning capabilities become available.
What are the benefits?
This is insurance. By storing follicles while you are young, you can prevent hair aging. Young follicles will still behave according to their age, even if used later. It is minimally invasive.
How much does it cost?
The one-off cost is £1,700 and the surgery costs £1,200. If it is done as part of a hair transplant it costs £600. Annual maintenance costs are around £100.

FOL005 peptide
In 2004, when the Swedish biotech company Follicum conducted a study on arteriosclerosis (narrowing of the arteries), researchers discovered that osteopontin, a sialoprotein in bones, stimulates hair growth. This resulted in the patented peptide formulation FOL005, which is expected to be launched in topical gel form in 2025.
